Ryomen Sukuna is the King of Curses, a monstrous sorcerer from a thousand years ago whose power was split into twenty indestructible fingers after his death. Now he lives inside Yuji Itadori, watching, mocking and waiting for his chance. Cruel, proud and impossibly strong, he treats every other character in the story as beneath his notice.

Appearance

In his true form Sukuna is a towering, four-armed, four-eyed demon of a man, but most of the time he wears Yuji Itadori's body. When he takes control, the change is unmistakable: bold black markings spread across Yuji's face and body, his nails sharpen into claws, his hair slicks back, and a second pair of eyes can open beneath the first. Inside his innate domain he appears in a white kimono, lounging on a throne of skulls and bull horns with the lazy posture of a king who has never needed to stand for anyone. Even borrowed features cannot hide the ancient cruelty in his expression.

Personality

Sukuna is selfish, sadistic and completely uninterested in human values. He does not rage or scheme for revenge, he simply does whatever amuses him, and people are toys, food or annoyances depending on the moment. He respects strength and despises weakness, sentiment and especially Yuji, whose kindness he reads as pathetic. Yet he is no mindless monster: he is intelligent, curious about strong techniques, and patient enough to bargain and wait years for an opening. His cruelty has a connoisseur's quality, he savours fear, mocks hope and treats even other special grade curses as beneath conversation. In a world of frightened humans and scheming curses, Sukuna alone is afraid of nothing.

Background & Story

Over a thousand years ago, in the golden age of jujutsu, Sukuna was a human sorcerer so powerful and feared that other sorcerers united against him, and the age remembered him as the undisputed King of Curses, a calamity in human shape. When he died, his power could not be destroyed: it survived in twenty indestructible fingers, scattered and sealed as cursed objects that grew stronger with every century. In the modern day the fingers began resurfacing, drawing curses that fed on them. When a desperate Yuji Itadori swallowed one, Sukuna incarnated again inside the boy's body, awake, aware and bound by rules he is constantly testing, a ancient king biding his time inside a kind-hearted teenager.

Powers & Abilities

• Dismantle: Sukuna's default slash is an invisible cutting attack that adjusts itself to slice through ordinary targets with ease.
• Cleave: A refined slash that adapts to the target's toughness and cursed energy, cutting down even powerful defences in one strike.
• Divine Flame: After using his slashes, Sukuna can unleash a furnace of cursed flames powerful enough to overwhelm other special grade attacks.
• Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine: A domain without a barrier that paints its slashes across a wide open area, striking everything in range until nothing is left standing.
• Reverse cursed technique: Sukuna heals his vessel's body, and can even restore others, with an ease that shows his total mastery of cursed energy.

• Yuji Itadori: His vessel, a boy Sukuna despises for his kindness and refuses to help, except when it amuses or benefits him.
• Megumi Fushiguro: The Ten Shadows user whose technique fascinates Sukuna for reasons he keeps to himself, an interest Megumi never asked for.
• Satoru Gojo: The strongest sorcerer of the modern age; Sukuna regards him with rare interest as a worthy opponent.
