TAThe Apothecary Diaries Season 3TV · 2026Maomao is a clever young apothecary who solves medical mysteries inside the imperial palace. In Season 3, which premiered on Friday 2 October 2026, the story grows beyond the palace walls: after the Shi clan's rebellion shook the court, Maomao returns to her old life as a pharmacist in the pleasure district, but the court's secrets will not leave her alone, and Jinshi, now openly carrying the heavy duties of the emperor's brother, still needs her mind. The season is airing in two parts: the first cour runs through autumn 2026, and the second cour follows in April 2027. The production also shifts, studio OLM now animates the series on its own, with director Akinori Fudesaka returning from Season 2, while TOHO animation STUDIO steps back after co-producing the first two seasons. Expect the same slow, smart mysteries as ever: poisons, plagues and palace politics, solved by a heroine who would honestly rather be tasting toxins than attending banquets. A theatrical film with an original story by the author follows in Japanese cinemas in December 2026.

FBFrieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2TV · 2026Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 continues elf mage Frieren's slow journey north with her apprentice Fern and the young warrior Stark. Its 10 episodes aired from January to March 2026, bringing the anime to 38 episodes in total. The party is travelling toward Aureole, the land where souls rest, so that Frieren can speak once more with Himmel, the hero she never understood in time. Season 2 keeps the first season's gentle rhythm: quiet inns and small villages, spells collected for almost no reason, and memories of the old hero party surfacing at every stop. But the Northern Plateau is dangerous country. Demons still haunt the roads, and this season brings the party face to face with the divine warrior Revolte, and with two very different first-class mages, Methode and Genau. Made by Madhouse with Evan Call's score and a new director, Tomoya Kitagawa, Season 2 is a shorter, calmer cour than the first, ten episodes that trust silence, scenery and small kindnesses to do the heavy lifting, and land all the harder for it.

FBFrieren: Beyond Journey's EndTV · 2023Long after defeating the Demon King, elf mage Frieren realises how little she understood the human friends who travelled beside her. She sets out on a new journey to learn about people, memories and how short human lives really are. It is a gentle, beautiful fantasy that moves at its own peaceful pace. The Frieren anime is produced by Madhouse and adapted from the manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. There are no chosen ones and no world-ending battles here, instead, small moments carry enormous weight: a spell that makes flowers bloom, a statue weathered by decades, a friend remembered too late. It is widely praised as one of the most beautiful and moving fantasy anime ever made, and a second season continues Frieren's journey north.

RSRe:Zero - Starting Life in Another WorldTV · 2016Subaru Natsuki is suddenly sent to a fantasy world, where he discovers he returns to a fixed point in time whenever he dies. He uses this painful power again and again to protect Emilia and his new friends. It is a gripping isekai story about courage, love and never giving up. Subaru has no strength, no magic talent and no special weapon, only the memories of timelines nobody else remembers, bought with deaths nobody else sees. That makes Re:Zero one of the darkest and most emotional isekai series: every victory is earned through failed loops, and Subaru's mind bends under the weight of them. Around him, the royal selection for Lugunica's throne, the Witch Cult and the sins they serve keep raising the stakes. Animated by White Fox, the anime now spans four seasons (85 episodes) and two OVA films, with Season 4 finishing in September 2026.

ASAoashi Season 2TV · 2026Ashito Aoi is a talented but selfish young footballer from a small town in Ehime who gets scouted by Tatsuya Fukuda, youth director of Tokyo City Esperion, one of Japan's best academies. Season 1 turned him from a ball-hogging forward into a full-back learning to see the whole pitch. Season 2, which premiered on 4 October 2026 on NHK Educational TV with streaming on Crunchyroll, promotes him to Esperion's A team. That promotion is the whole story: the A team plays in the youth Premier League, against the best young players in the country, and its senior stars, playmaker Haruhisa Kuribayashi and defender Nagisa Akutsu, set a standard Ashito is nowhere near yet. The season runs 24 episodes across two cours, with the first cour covering his brutal education at the higher level. Production has changed hands: TMS Entertainment replaces Production I.G, and Kazuki Yokoyama directs, while series composer Masahiro Yokotani and composer Masaru Yokoyama return. The thinking football that made Season 1 a cult favourite among real football fans is very much intact.

HHaikyuu!!TV · 2014Shoyo Hinata is short, fast and obsessed with volleyball, but his tiny middle-school team never stood a chance. Now at Karasuno High he must team up with Tobio Kageyama, the setter who once crushed him. Animated by Production I.G and adapted from Haruichi Furudate's manga, Haikyuu!! follows Karasuno (once called the 'flightless crows', a fallen powerhouse school) as a new generation rebuilds the team and claws its way back toward the national stage. Across four TV seasons (2014–2020) and now a run of cinema films, the series turns school volleyball into pure drama: no superpowers, no shortcuts, just real technique, teamwork and rivalries that grow over years. What makes it special is how much it loves everyone on the court. Rival schools like Nekoma, Aoba Johsai, Shiratorizawa and Inarizaki all get heroes, heartbreaks and reasons to win, so even Karasuno's defeats feel meaningful. The Hinata–Kageyama partnership, a lightning-fast quick attack built on total trust, drives the story, but this is an ensemble piece where bench players, managers and coaches all matter. Warm, funny and relentlessly exciting, it is widely loved as one of the finest sports anime ever made.
