Seasonal Anime FAQs
What are the four anime seasons?
Anime runs on four seasons every year: Winter (January to March), Spring (April to June), Summer (July to September) and Fall (October to December). Most new series start in the first week or two of their season, which is why so many premieres land in the same few days.
Which anime season is airing right now?
Right now it is the Fall 2026 season, which runs from October to December. The purple box at the top of this page has the full line-up, and our catalogue covers 13 of its titles so far.
When does the next anime season start?
New seasons always begin in January, April, July and October. After Fall 2026 comes Winter 2027, and its first shows premiere in early January 2027. Confirmed premiere dates land on our release calendar as studios announce them.
How many episodes does a seasonal anime usually have?
Most seasonal anime run for 12 or 13 episodes, one episode a week for about three months. Bigger titles sometimes run for 24 to 26 episodes, either in one long stretch or split into two parts with a break in between.
What does cour mean in anime?
A cour is one block of weekly episodes that lasts about three months, roughly one TV season. When fans say a show is two cours, they mean it runs for around six months, usually 24 or 25 episodes in total.
Where can I watch this season's anime?
Most new shows stream legally on platforms like Crunchyroll, Netflix, HIDIVE and Prime Video, and many episodes go up the same day they air in Japan. Open any title on AnimeYug and check its Where to Watch tab to see exactly which services carry it.
Why are some anime not listed under a single season?
A few shows do not follow the weekly TV pattern. Some streaming titles release in stages spread across different months instead of one episode a week in a single season, so putting them under one season would be wrong. We list those on this page under Also On Air, with their full schedule on their own pages.
