About Natsu Dragneel

A Fire Dragon Slayer raised by the dragon Igneel, who vanished when Natsu was a child. Natsu searches for his father while taking jobs with Team Natsu, and his answer to almost every problem is to charge in, eat some fire and fight harder. Loud, loyal and terrible on any vehicle thanks to his motion sickness, he treats the whole Fairy Tail guild as family and defends it without hesitation.

Appearance

Natsu is a lean, muscular young man with spiky salmon-pink hair and dark eyes that narrow to slits when he grins or glares. His outfit is practical for fighting: a black, gold-trimmed vest worn open over a bare chest, white baggy trousers, sandals, and the one item he never removes, a white scale-patterned scarf woven from Igneel's scales, given to him by Anna. The red Fairy Tail mark sits on his right shoulder. In battle his whole body is usually wreathed in orange flame, and dragon scales sometimes creep across his skin when his power spikes.

Personality

Natsu's priorities are not complicated. Food. A good fight. His friends. On a normal day the order shuffles around, but threaten the third item and the other two stop existing. Guildmates are family, family gets protected, and that's the end of the discussion as far as he's concerned. Property damage is just what happens when Natsu cares about something indoors. He also gets violently sick on any vehicle ever built, which the universe seems to find as funny as his friends do. Underneath all the noise there's one quiet thing he never puts down: his foster father, the dragon Igneel, walked out of his life when he was small, and Natsu has never stopped looking for him.

Background & Story

Natsu was raised in the wilds by Igneel, the Fire Dragon King, who taught him language, manners of a sort, and Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. On the seventh of July in the year X777 Igneel vanished without a word, leaving Natsu alone. The boy wandered until Makarov Dreyar brought him to the Fairy Tail guild in Magnolia, where he grew up brawling with Gray, admiring Erza and raising a flying blue cat, Happy, from an egg. Years later a chance meeting with a Celestial wizard named Lucy pulled him into the adventures that made his team famous, and eventually onto the road of the Hundred Years Quest, hunting the five Dragon Gods and still asking every dragon he meets the same question: have you seen Igneel?

• Fire Dragon Slayer Magic: Dragon-taught magic that lets Natsu cover his body in flame, breathe fire and eat flames to restore his strength, useless only against his own fire.

• Fire Dragon's Iron Fist: A punch wrapped in swirling flame, the move he opens most fights with.
• Dragon Force: The Dragon Slayer's ultimate state, reached through overwhelming magic or eating a powerful element, scales spread across his body and his fire reaches a true dragon's level.
• Fire Dragon King Mode: A higher mode drawing on the power Igneel left inside him, producing flames hot enough to burn magic itself.
