Albedo

About Albedo

Albedo is the succubus Overseer of Nazarick's Floor Guardians, managing the tomb's defences and administration in Ainz's name. Beautiful, brilliant and utterly devoted, partly because Ainz rewrote her settings to love him, she is both his most capable deputy and his most dangerous admirer. Her smile stays gentle right up until someone threatens her beloved.

Appearance

Albedo is a stunningly beautiful woman with long black hair, golden eyes and curved black horns, with small white wings at her waist marking her succubus nature. She usually wears an elegant white dress with gloves, keeping her expression a gentle, perfect smile. In battle she switches to black full plate armour and a huge bardiche, becoming one of Nazarick's front-line walls. Both versions share the same smile, which enemies learn, briefly, to fear.

Personality

Albedo is brilliant, composed and completely obsessive. As Overseer she runs Nazarick's administration flawlessly, thinks in strategies and treats the other guardians like staff. Her devotion to Ainz, however, is not professional: on the game's last night Ainz jokingly edited her settings to 'be in love with Momonga', and in the New World that line became her heart. She is jealous, possessive and privately contemptuous of the absent guildmates she believes abandoned Ainz, a heresy she hides from everyone, including him.

Background & Story

Albedo was created by Tabula Smaragdina, one of Ainz's guildmates, as the Overseer of the Floor Guardians of Nazarick, a succubus NPC with elaborate settings describing an elegant, contradictory lady. When the game became real, she woke with perfect loyalty to the guild's master and one edited line rewriting her heart. As Ainz's right hand she organises Nazarick's government, commands its defences in his absence and stands at the centre of the tomb's politics, her flawless service and her dangerous private feelings growing side by side.

Powers & Abilities

• Guardian Overseer authority: Albedo administers all of Nazarick's Floor Guardians and defences, second only to Ainz in the tomb's hierarchy.
• Black armour and bardiche: In combat Albedo is a top-tier tank, fighting in heavy black armour with a huge poleaxe and shrugging off devastating attacks.
• Succubus abilities: Her demonic nature grants her formidable magic resistance, flight and powerful racial skills.
• Bicorn mount: Albedo can summon her bicorn, a powerful war mount, though, to her fury, it refuses her for a lore reason she finds humiliating.

Key Relationships

• Ainz Ooal Gown: Her master and the love her edited settings made absolute; she serves him as deputy and dreams of far more.
• Shalltear Bloodfallen: Her fellow guardian and eternal rival for Ainz's attention, their polite warfare is constant.
• Demiurge: Her colleague among Nazarick's leadership, the other half of the tomb's strategic brain.
