That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a fantasy isekai anime by Eight Bit, adapted from Fuse's light novels through Taiki Kawakami's manga version. It follows Rimuru Tempest, a reborn slime who builds a nation of monsters. Four seasons (96 episodes to September 2026) and two films have aired, and Season 4 continues with its third cour in July 2027.
About That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Office worker Satoru Mikami dies and wakes in a fantasy world as a small blue slime with the power to absorb and copy almost anything. Naming himself Rimuru, he befriends a sealed dragon, rescues goblins and slowly builds a town where monsters and humans can live together. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a cosy, clever nation-building isekai with plenty of action when diplomacy fails. What makes it special is how Rimuru solves problems: he would rather trade, negotiate and throw a festival than fight, so his tiny monster village grows step by step into the Jura Tempest Federation, a real nation with roads, baths, schools and allies. The politics, economics and everyday life of that growing country sit beside big battles against demon lords, holy knights and human kingdoms that fear what Tempest represents. Animated by Eight Bit, the series has run since 2018 across four seasons and two films, and its light novel source finished in 2025, so the whole journey is now mapped out.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a TV anime from 2018, first released in Fall 2018. It belongs to the Fantasy and Comedy and Action genres and is listed as a completed series. The summary above is written by the AnimeYug team in our own words.

Story & Plot
Satoru Mikami, a 37-year-old office worker in Tokyo, is stabbed while shielding a colleague and dies hearing a strange voice grant him skills for his next life. He wakes as a blind, limbless slime in a cave, armed with the Predator skill, which lets him absorb creatures and copy their powers. There he meets Veldora, a mighty Storm Dragon sealed away for 300 years. The two become friends, take the name Tempest, and Rimuru swallows the dragon whole to work on breaking his seal from the inside.
Outside the cave, Rimuru rescues a goblin village, then dwarves, ogres and lizardmen, slowly founding a monster town in the Great Forest of Jura. Every new ally makes Tempest stronger, and more visible. Human kingdoms, merchant guilds, the Holy Empire and the Demon Lords all have to decide whether this cheerful slime is a partner or a threat, and Rimuru keeps answering with trade, festivals and friendship first, and overwhelming force only when his people are attacked.
