Veldora Tempest

About Veldora Tempest

Veldora is the mighty Storm Dragon who was sealed in a cave for 300 years after burning a city. Rimuru befriends him, gives him the family name Tempest, and swallows him whole to work on breaking the seal. Loud, lonely and a secret manga fan, Veldora is terrifying to the world outside and a playful older brother inside Tempest.

Appearance

Veldora's true form is an enormous black-scaled dragon with vast wings, horns and glowing eyes, one of the four True Dragons and a living natural disaster. Inside Rimuru's stomach and later in human form, he appears as a tall, muscular, blond man with a wild grin, usually in a simple open outfit that suits his carefree attitude. Even relaxed, his sheer magical presence makes weaker monsters tremble.

Personality

Veldora spent centuries feared as a catastrophe-class monster, but in person he is boisterous, childish and desperate for company. Three hundred years of solitary confinement left him starved of conversation, and he happily trades dragon pride for manga, games and Rimuru's friendship. He sulks when left out, brags constantly, and treats his terrifying reputation as a joke, until someone threatens Tempest, when the ancient dragon's anger becomes very real.

Background & Story

Veldora is one of the True Dragons, embodiments of the world's great elements, and the Storm Dragon who once burned a human city in his rampage. The hero who stopped him sealed him inside the Sealed Cave with an unlimited prison he could not break. There he sat for 300 years, slowly leaking magic that created the cave's monsters and ores. When a newly reborn slime wandered in, Veldora was so pleased to have a visitor that he named him Rimuru, took the family name Tempest for them both, and let the slime swallow him so they could work on breaking the seal together.
