Hinata is the captain of the Holy Knights and one of the strongest otherworlders alive, summoned to this world as a teenager and hardened by it. Cold, pragmatic and devoted to the god Luminous, she first meets Rimuru as an enemy acting on false information. Their clash becomes one of the series' defining rivalries and, slowly, something more complicated.

Appearance

Hinata is a striking woman with long dark hair and sharp, cool eyes, usually seen in the white and gold armour of the Holy Knights or the formal dress of the Western Holy Church. A sword is almost always within reach. Her posture is perfect, her gaze unsentimental, she looks exactly like what she is: the most dangerous human swordswoman in the western nations.

Personality

Hinata is cold, pragmatic and disciplined to a fault. Summoned as a teenager into a world that tried to use and kill her, she survived by becoming stronger than everyone and trusting almost no one. She serves the god Luminous and the Church without theatrical faith, it is simply the structure she chose to protect humanity inside. Under the ice is a real sense of justice: when she learns she was manipulated into attacking Tempest, she faces Rimuru honestly, apology included.

Background & Story

Hinata Sakaguchi was a Japanese schoolgirl summoned to this world at fifteen, arriving with powerful unique skills that let her survive the monsters and men who targeted her. Hardened by betrayal, she rose through the Western Holy Church to become captain of the Holy Knights, the Church's strongest force, and one of Shizue's former students. Manipulated by merchants and a false report about Rimuru and her teacher's fate, she ambushed Rimuru in one of the series' most serious duels, and later became a key bridge between Tempest and the human nations.
