Sasaki is a tired office worker whose pet bird Peeps is secretly a powerful sage from another world. With Peeps' magic he hops between modern Japan and a fantasy world, but psychics and secret agents keep complicating his quiet life. Season 2 continues this unusual mix of fantasy and everyday comedy. Sasaki still dreams of a slow, peaceful life, trading goods between worlds, eating well at his otherworld restaurant and training in magic under Peeps, whose real name is Piercarlo, the Sage of the Stars. But his day job at the Cabinet Office's paranormal bureau, the magical girls and demons around his home, and new arrivals such as the demon Abaddon keep ruining his plans. Story & Plot

Sasaki, a worn-out office worker pushing forty, bought a Java sparrow for company, and got Piercarlo, a great sage reincarnated from another world, who gave him magic and a way to travel between worlds. Sasaki used the gift sensibly: he trades modern goods in a fantasy kingdom, runs a restaurant there and trains in magic, all to fund the quiet life he always wanted. Then a chance encounter with people who have psychic powers got him recruited by the Cabinet Office's paranormal bureau, and his double life became a triple one.

Season 2 widens every part of that life. At the bureau, Sasaki and his young colleague Hoshizaki face stranger cases, while magical girls, a demon living as a businesswoman, and his mysterious next-door neighbour keep modern Japan anything but normal. In the other world, Viscount Mueller and Prince Adonis pull him deeper into noble politics. New faces (the demon Abaddon, Himegami and the girl Eriel) make Sasaki's hope of a peaceful life feel further away than ever, which is exactly where the comedy lives.
