The Serpoians are an all-male race of clone aliens who cannot reproduce naturally, so they study human biology with cold, scientific hunger. Polite, identical and terrifying, they attack Momo and Okarun again and again with advanced technology and borrowed powers. One Serpoian, nicknamed Rokuro, slowly becomes an unlikely ally, proof that even Dandadan's creepiest aliens can learn to be people.

Appearance

The Serpoians all look identical: tall, grey, smooth-skinned humanoids with elongated heads, large dark eyes and mouths full of unsettlingly neat teeth. They wear plain matching suits and move with eerie, synchronised politeness, bowing, tilting their heads and speaking in unison courtesies while discussing dissection. Their sameness is the horror: they are clones, interchangeable by design, and their identical smiles never reach any warmth because there is no individual behind them to warm.

Personality

Serpoians are polite, identical and terrifying. They speak with perfect manners while planning atrocities, because to a clone collective, individuals, even their own, are specimens. Their curiosity is genuine and totally without empathy. That uniformity is also their weakness: a Serpoian separated from the group, given a name and treated as a person, starts becoming one, which the others regard as a malfunction.

Background & Story

The Serpoians come from a planet of cloned males whose race cannot reproduce naturally, which has made them obsessively interested in human biology. Their 'research' on Earth is abduction and experimentation, carried out with advanced technology and borrowed yokai powers. They attack Momo and Okarun repeatedly, escalating from a single abduction to full assaults with summoned monsters. One individual, separated from the collective and nicknamed Rokuro by the group, begins, slowly, to develop something the Serpo are not supposed to have: a personality, and with it the beginnings of a conscience.

Powers & Abilities

• Advanced Alien Technology: The Serpo deploy UFOs, sealing devices that isolate areas of the city, and technology that can summon and control other aliens.
• Psychic Technology: Serpo devices and techniques can manipulate minds and bodies, the basis of their abduction and experimentation programme.

Key Relationships

• Momo Ayase: Their prime research subject, the girl whose awakened psychic power ruined their first abduction and keeps ruining their plans.
• Ken Takakura: Their other recurring target, whose cursed speed makes him the specimen they cannot catch.
• Dover Demon: An alien they hired as muscle and treated as disposable, a judgement the Ayase household reversed.
