About Hayate Todoroki
Hayate Todoroki is the general of the Oni Brigade, an army of Oni unaffiliated with the Oni Agency that exists for one purpose: the total extermination of the Momotaro. Like Shiki, he is a Child of Kishin, born with overwhelming Oni power, and his charisma pulls wounded, angry Oni to his banner, including Shiki's classmate Yaoroshi. Todoroki is the Nikko arc's most dangerous idea given a face: revenge with no limits at all.
Appearance
Todoroki is a striking young commander with an intense, charismatic presence, the kind of man a room reorganises itself around. He carries himself with a general's confidence entirely at odds with his scatterbrained moments, and when his Kishin power shows, it is clear the charisma is not the most dangerous thing about him.
Personality
Todoroki is charismatic, erratic and absolute. To the wounded, angry Oni who flock to his banner he is warmth and purpose; to the Momotaro he is a death sentence with no appeal. His hatred is not a performance, it is a worldview, built from the same losses that drive the whole Oni side, with one difference: Todoroki has removed every limit. He is the Nikko arc's most dangerous idea given a face, revenge with nothing left to lose and no line left to cross.
Background & Story
Hayate Todoroki leads the Oni Brigade, an army of Oni unaffiliated with the Oni Agency, founded on a single doctrine: the Momotaro must be exterminated completely, without negotiation or mercy. Like Shiki, Todoroki is one of the eight Children of Kishin, born with overwhelming Oni power, and his strength and charisma pull angry, grieving Oni to his banner, including, in the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, Shiki's own classmate Ikari Yaoroshi. Against the Agency's discipline and Shiki's mercy, Todoroki offers the war's simplest answer, and the fight over Ikari becomes a fight over which answer the Oni will choose.
