Quick Answer

Ranma 1/2 Season 3 is the third season of MAPPA's remake of Rumiko Takahashi's martial-arts romantic comedy manga. It premiered on 3 October 2026 on Nippon TV, with new episodes streaming on Netflix worldwide right after each broadcast. Ranma, Akane and the whole Jusenkyo-cursed crowd return, with most of the original 1989 voice cast reprising their roles.

About Ranma 1/2 Season 3

Ranma Saotome turns into a girl when splashed with cold water and back into a boy with hot water, thanks to a training accident at the cursed springs of Jusenkyo in China. Season 3 of MAPPA's remake premiered on 3 October 2026 on Nippon TV, with Netflix streaming each episode worldwide right after the Japanese broadcast. The remake keeps the formula that made Rumiko Takahashi's manga a classic: Ranma's engagement to the temperamental Akane Tendo, a growing crowd of rivals and fiancées, and martial arts applied to absolutely everything, cooking, gymnastics, tea ceremony, you name it. Season 3 opens with Ranma and Ryoga's rivalry front and centre, brings Happosai and Cologne's schemes back into play, and adds new faces, including Sentaro Daimonji of the martial-arts tea ceremony school. Most of the original 1989 voice cast is back in the same roles more than three decades later, which gives the remake a warmth no reboot could fake. If you like your comedy fast, physical and hopelessly romantic, this is the season to jump in, though the first two seasons are only 12 episodes each.

Ranma 1/2 Season 3 is a TV anime from 2026, first released in Fall 2026. It belongs to the Comedy and Romance genres and is listed as currently airing. The summary above is written by the AnimeYug team in our own words.

Story & Plot

Ranma Saotome trained in martial arts from childhood under his father Genma, and an ill-fated training trip to China's cursed springs changed his life: cold water now turns him into a girl, and his father into a panda, while hot water changes them back. Arriving in Japan, Ranma learns he has been engaged (by his father, years ago) to Akane Tendo, heir to the Tendo dojo, who wants nothing to do with the arrangement.

That engagement is the engine of the whole series. Akane's suitors challenge Ranma daily; Ranma's own past keeps producing new fiancées, from the Amazon Shampoo to his childhood friend Ukyo; and every rivalry is settled with spectacular, ridiculous martial arts. Season 3 continues the remake's faithful march through Takahashi's manga, mixing returning favourites (Happosai the ancient lecher, Cologne the Amazon elder, the eternally lost Ryoga) with new challengers and new cursed-spring complications.

Underneath the slapstick, it is a slow-burn romance between two proud teenagers who clearly like each other and would rather fight a dojo full of challengers than say so. That tension, plus the jokes, is why Ranma still works nearly forty years on.
