Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is Toei Animation's enhanced edition of the opening of Dragon Ball Super, rebuilding the Battle of Gods, Resurrection 'F' and Universe 6 arcs with new and redrawn animation and re-recorded voices. It premiered on 11 October 2026 and airs weekly on Sundays. People watch it to see Super's most criticised stretch retold at modern quality, closer to Akira Toriyama's manga.
About Dragon Ball Super: Beerus
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is an enhanced edition of Dragon Ball Super, made by Toei Animation for its 70th anniversary and the Dragon Ball franchise's 40th. Instead of a simple re-release, the team rebuilt the opening of the 2015 series with large amounts of newly drawn animation, re-recorded voices and a reconstructed story that follows Akira Toriyama's original manga more closely. The remake tells the Battle of Gods, Resurrection 'F' and Universe 6 arcs in a planned run of just 19 episodes, cutting the filler that slowed the original down. It premiered on 11 October 2026, and for new fans it is now the fastest, cleanest way to start the Dragon Ball Super story, while long-time fans get to see famous scenes, including Goku's first fight with Beerus, the way they were meant to look.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is a TV anime from 2026, first released in Fall 2026. It belongs to the Action and Adventure and Comedy genres and is listed as currently airing. The summary above is written by the AnimeYug team in our own words.

Story & Plot
After the defeat of Majin Buu, peace on Earth is interrupted by the awakening of Beerus, the God of Destruction, who has dreamt of a worthy rival called the Super Saiyan God. Beerus and his attendant Whis arrive on Earth during Bulma's birthday party, and a casual insult turns into a crisis that could end the planet. Goku must gather the Saiyans, unlock a godly new form and earn Beerus's respect in a battle fought above the Earth itself.
The story then races through the return of Frieza, resurrected and stronger than ever with his Golden form, and into a tournament between Universe 7 and its twin, Universe 6, where entire teams of fighters battle for the Super Dragon Balls. It is the classic Dragon Ball mix of comedy, rivalry and ever-bigger battles, tightened into a single fast run.
Because the remake rebuilds these arcs from Toriyama's story with modern production, the famous moments land with a weight the rushed 2015 broadcast could not always give them: Goku's first Super Saiyan God transformation, Vegeta's pride-fuelled stand against Beerus, and Frieza's golden return all feel bigger, cleaner and faster this time around.
