Son Gohan

About Son Gohan

Son Gohan is Goku's elder son, a gentle scholar whose hidden power saved the world as a boy. By the Beerus era he has traded training for books, marriage and a baby daughter, Pan, leaving his fighting edge dulled. He still answers when Earth calls, but his story in this period is about balance: the quiet life he loves, and the strength he cannot abandon.

Appearance

Gohan is a tall, kind-faced young man with black hair, worn in a neat scholar's style in daily life, standing wild like his father's when he powers up. He wears glasses, sweaters and academic clothes as a professor, and his old Piccolo-style gi or his Great Saiyaman costume for fighting. In his Beast form his hair turns long and silver-white and his eyes flare red, the scholar's face carrying the saga's most startling transformation.

Personality

Gohan is the anti-Saiyan: gentle, bookish, conflict-averse, and stronger than almost everyone when the people he loves are threatened. Super treats his softness honestly, he let his training lapse, chose research and family, and the guilt of that choice is his arc. He is not Goku, and the series respects him for it: Gohan's strength was never about loving battle, it is about love itself, and the rage that answers when his quiet life is threatened. As a father to Pan, he is everything Goku was not: present, doting and entirely ordinary, until the world needs the beast again.

Background & Story

Gohan was a timid four-year-old when his father died and Piccolo, the demon king's son, kidnapped him for training, discovering the boy's explosive hidden power. That power defined his childhood: at eleven, on the Cell Games' stage, Gohan's rage finally erupted into Super Saiyan 2 and he saved the Earth his father trusted him with. Peace made him a scholar; he married Videl, became a professor and a father, and let the warrior rust, until Frieza's return showed him the cost, and he asked Piccolo to train him back to the edge. In Super's later battles Gohan stands again among the universe's strongest, fighting his own way: the mind of a scholar, the heart of a father, and a beast underneath.

Powers & Abilities

• Ultimate / Mystic form: The Elder Kai's ritual unlocked all of Gohan's latent power without transformation, his complete strength in his natural state, restored and surpassed through Piccolo's retraining.
• Gohan Beast: His newest evolution, awakened when Piccolo's life hung in the balance: silver hair, red eyes and power that rivals the gods, rage refined by everything Gohan has become.
• Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2: The golden forms of his youth, Gohan was the first to reach Super Saiyan 2, at eleven years old, against Cell.
• Masenko and Kamehameha: Piccolo's demon-style blast was Gohan's first signature; the Kamehameha, fired one-handed against Cell, is his inheritance from both his teachers.

Key Relationships

• Piccolo: His first teacher and truest father figure, the bond between them is the emotional spine of Gohan's whole life.
• Son Goku: His father, whose faith in him saved the world, and whose absence taught Gohan what kind of father to be instead.
• Videl: His wife, a fellow fighter who met him as the Great Saiyaman's unmasker and chose him with open eyes.
• Pan: His daughter, the centre of his quiet life and the trigger of his greatest power.
• Krillin: His childhood comrade-in-arms, the uncle figure of his dangerous boyhood.
