Orsted

About Orsted

Orsted is the Dragon God, ranked among the Seven Great World Powers and feared as the strongest of them, a silver-haired man whose presence terrifies even demons. His first meeting with Rudeus nearly ends the story, and his war against the scheming Man-God runs beneath everything. Whether he is enemy, ally or something worse is Season 3's looming question.

Appearance

Orsted is a tall man with silver hair, golden dragon-like eyes and a cold, handsome face, dressed in a white fur-collared coat that gives him the air of an executioner at a winter court. His presence alone terrifies demons and warriors who have never seen him, an aura of dread that makes even Ruijerd Superdia flinch. Everything about Orsted suggests a man for whom every fight he has ever fought was already decided.

Personality

Orsted is cold, direct and terrifyingly patient. He has a war to win against the Man-God, the scheming deity who whispers in people's dreams. He pursues it across a timescale no one else in the story can imagine, sacrificing everything, including his own humanity's appearance, to preparation. His first meeting with Rudeus nearly ends the story because Orsted does not take chances. What lies under the dread, the cost of his mission, and his capacity for regard, is one of the series' deepest questions.

Background & Story

Orsted is the Dragon God, second-ranked among the Seven Great World Powers, the strongest beings officially recognised in the world, and by most accounts the strongest of them in truth. Feared by every race and nation, he wanders the world on a hidden mission connected to the Man-God, the entity whose advice shapes so many lives. When a young mage named Rudeus Greyrat crosses his path and proves to know things he should not, Orsted's response establishes exactly why the whole world fears the Dragon God.

Powers & Abilities

• Dragon God strength: Orsted's combat power stands at the peak of the Seven Great World Powers, overwhelming virtually any opponent.
• Dragon God techniques: He commands the Dragon God's secret arts, including battle aura and the God Blade, alongside mastery of all magic systems.
• Curse of dread: Orsted is cursed so that most living beings instinctively fear and hate him, a burden built into his lonely mission.

Key Relationships

• Rudeus Greyrat: The anomaly whose knowledge of the Man-God makes him, to Orsted, either a weapon or a threat.
• Shizuka Nanahoshi: The summoned girl he shelters and whose research he supports for his own long war.
