Tatsumaki, the Tornado of Terror, is S-Class rank 2: the most powerful esper in the Hero Association, a petite, green-haired whirlwind who treats almost everyone as an incompetent child. Her psychic power can drag meteors from the sky and twist monsters apart, and her temper is nearly as destructive. Beneath the arrogance is a childhood scar, a laboratory, a rescue that never came, and her sister Fubuki.

Appearance

Tatsumaki is a petite young woman with voluminous curly green hair and a youthful face that leads strangers to mistake her for a child, an error she corrects explosively. She wears a black, high-collared dress with long sleeves and a jagged hem that floats around her like her own personal weather system. In battle she is almost always airborne, arms crossed, surrounded by a green psychic glow and orbiting debris, looking down at everyone in every sense.

Personality

Tatsumaki is arrogant, impatient and contemptuous of nearly everyone, treating most heroes as incompetent children wasting her time. She is also, when the fighting starts, absolutely dependable: she takes the worst of every battle onto herself and protects civilians and colleagues she was insulting a minute earlier. Her arrogance has roots, a childhood in a lab taught her that depending on anyone is how you get caged, and her love for Fubuki, expressed as control, is the blind spot her sister's whole life pushes against.

Background & Story

Tatsumaki was taken as a small child by scientists who studied her overwhelming psychic power, and she spent years in a laboratory being tested while told her parents would come for her. The hero Blast once freed her during an attack and left her with advice she built her life on: never expect anyone to save you. She grew into the Hero Association's ultimate weapon, S-Class rank 2, summoned when nothing else will work, while fiercely, suffocatingly protecting her younger sister Fubuki, determined that no one will ever cage or use either of them again. Her temper and contempt for weaker heroes are legend, but the power underneath them is entirely real.

Powers & Abilities

• Psychic Power (Telekinesis): Tatsumaki's telekinesis operates at a planetary scale of finesse and force, dragging meteors from orbit, twisting giant monsters apart and lifting entire underground bases to the surface.
• Psychic Barriers and Flight: She flies as naturally as walking and shields herself and whole groups with psychic barriers that withstand the strongest attacks in the series.
• Psychic Binding and Sensing: Tatsumaki can pin opponents in place, sense presences across a battlefield and manipulate matter down to fine, surgical detail when she focuses.
