From Fire Force

About Tamaki Kotatsu
Tamaki Kotatsu is a sister-trainee of the Holy Sol Temple assigned to the Fire Force, a third-generation pyrokinetic whose cat-like flames give her ears, tails and claws of fire. She is also cursed with the 'Lucky Lecher Lure', a running gag of impossible accidents that she despises. Her journey is about becoming someone who protects others instead of waiting to be protected.
Appearance
Tamaki is a petite teenager of 156 cm with long dark hair in twin tails and golden eyes. She divides her time between a Sister's habit and Company 8's firefighter uniform, and when her ability ignites, pink-orange flames form cat ears, a tail and clawed paws around her. She is also afflicted with the 'Lucky Lecher Lure', a curse of impossible, embarrassing accidents that strike without warning and which she despises with her whole heart.
Personality
Tamaki is sincere, easily flustered and braver than she believes. She wants to protect people, it is why she joined, but she starts the story unsure whether she is a burden, rescued more often than rescuing. Her growth is about competence earned the hard way: learning to trust her own strength, to ask for help without shame, and to become someone who shields others instead of waiting to be shielded.
Background & Story
Tamaki trained as a Sister of the Holy Sol Temple and served as a fire soldier under Company 1 before being placed with Company 8, where she continues her service while training as a nun. Her cat-like flame ability, Nekomata, makes her fast and agile in a fight, but her early missions leave her doubting her place among soldiers like Shinra and Maki. With Company 8 she finds a brigade that treats her accidents as comedy and her courage as real, and slowly becomes the protector she set out to be.
Powers & Abilities
- Nekomata: Tamaki's Ignition Ability wraps her in flames shaped like a cat's ears, tail and claws, boosting her speed and agility and letting her slash and bind enemies with her fiery tail.
Key Relationships
- Maki Oze: Company 8's big-sister figure, whose strength and warmth are the model Tamaki measures herself against.
- Shinra Kusakabe: A fellow Company 8 rookie whose rescues, and whose terrible luck with her Lucky Lecher Lure, leave them both permanently embarrassed.
- Iris: A fellow Sister serving with Company 8; the two share the Temple's training and its burdens.
