Maki Oze is Company 8's second-generation pyrokinetic, a former soldier who can shape and command flames, bending enemy fire into her adorable floating 'Sputter' sprites or crushing it with her Iron Owls. Tall, muscular and hopelessly romantic, she daydreams like a shoujo heroine and hits like a siege engine, a contradiction her teammates tease her for endlessly. Maki is Company 8's big sister: the one who makes its fire feel like a home.
Appearance
Maki is a tall, powerfully built young woman of 167 cm with long dark hair usually tied in a ponytail and a warm, expressive face. Years of military training show in her posture and her arms; her daydreamy, romance-novel expressions show everywhere else. In Company 8's uniform she looks like a siege engine that has wandered out of a shoujo manga, which is, her teammates agree, exactly what she is.
Personality
Maki is gentle, romantic and ferociously strong, and embarrassed by exactly one of those things. She daydreams about love like a schoolgirl, then bends enemy fire into toys and flattens Infernals with military precision. She is Company 8's big sister: the one who feeds people, worries about people, and makes its fire feel like a home. Her temper only truly shows when someone calls her an ogre, usually Arthur, usually once.
Background & Story
Maki comes from a military family, her father is a general, and served as a soldier in the Tokyo military, where Lieutenant Hinawa recognised her talent and recruited her into the newly formed Company 8. As a second-generation pyrokinetic she cannot create flame, but she can control existing fire on a huge scale, shaping it with a delicacy no one else in the brigade can match. She is one of Company 8's founding members and its emotional centre, the senior sister the rookies orbit around.
