Shoto Todoroki is a Class 1-A student who controls ice with one side of his body and fire with the other. He is the youngest son of the flame hero Endeavor, whose harsh training and family pain left deep scars. Calm and powerful, Shoto must decide for himself what kind of hero his inherited powers will make him.

Appearance

Shoto is tall and well-built, with hair split cleanly in two colours, white on his right side, crimson on his left, and mismatched eyes, grey on the right and turquoise on the left. A burn scar covers the left side of his face around his eye, a mark from his childhood that everyone notices and few dare ask about. His first hero costume covered his left side in ice; his later costume is a dark blue uniform with a heated vest and metal braces designed to regulate both halves of his power.

Personality

Shoto is quiet, blunt and hard to read, keeping classmates at a distance through most of his early time at U.A. Raised as a project rather than a son, he learned to suppress everything except training, and his social skills lag far behind his combat ability, he often misses jokes and takes remarks literally. Beneath the reserve he is principled and kind, quick to stand up for others once he starts letting people in. His central struggle is ownership of himself: accepting that his power is his, not his father's.

Shoto is the youngest child of Enji Todoroki, the flame hero Endeavor, who arranged a marriage specifically to breed a child combining his fire with ice, an heir who could surpass All Might. Shoto, born with exactly that split power, was put through brutal training from age five and kept isolated from his siblings, while his mother's mental state collapsed under the family's pressure; the scar on his face comes from that breaking point. Shoto grew up rejecting his father's fire entirely, vowing to reach the top using only his mother's ice. At U.A. he enters through official recommendations as one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, and a single match against Izuku Midoriya begins to crack the vow that has defined his whole life.
