All Might

About All Might

All Might is the number one hero and the world's symbol of peace, famous for his huge smile and the words 'I am here.' Born Toshinori Yagi, he carried the Quirk One For All before passing it to Izuku Midoriya. Years of injuries have left him frail, but his example still shapes every hero who follows him.

Appearance

In his muscle form All Might is enormous, 220 cm of sculpted bulk with blond hair swept up into two tall tufts, deep-set blue eyes shadowed like a comic-book hero, and a constant wide grin. His classic costume is red, white and blue. In his true form, Toshinori Yagi is a gaunt, sunken-cheeked man with messy blond hair falling over his face and dark, tired eyes; a severe old injury has wasted his body, and he often coughs blood when he overexerts himself.

Personality

All Might built his whole public self around one promise: a smiling hero who makes people feel safe just by arriving, summed up in his catchphrase 'I am here.' He is booming, theatrical and endlessly encouraging, hiding fear and pain behind the grin because he believes a symbol must never waver. In private, Toshinori is humble, awkward and self-sacrificing to a fault, carrying guilt for every person he could not save. As a teacher he is well-meaning but inexperienced, learning alongside his students.

Background & Story

Toshinori Yagi was himself born Quirkless in an earlier, more chaotic era, when the villain All For One's influence was at its height. He dreamed of a world where everyone could smile in safety, and his master Nana Shimura passed him One For All so he could become a pillar to hold society up. Trained in America and returning to Japan, he rose to become the undisputed number one hero, the Symbol of Peace whose presence alone suppressed crime. Years before the story begins, a battle with All For One left him with devastating injuries that limit how long he can hold his muscle form each day. Knowing his time is running out, he searches for a successor, and finds him in a Quirkless boy who ran toward danger when heroes hesitated.

Powers & Abilities
