Priscilla Heisilgard
Priscilla Heisilgard is a supporting character in A Returner's Magic Should Be Special, publicly known as a saint of the Artemis Church and a master of healing magic. Elegant, composed and utterly ruthless underneath, she moves pieces across kingdoms while Desir is still playing school tournaments. She is voiced by Ayako Kawasumi in Japanese and Corey Pettit in English.
About Priscilla Heisilgard
Priscilla Heisilgard is the leader of the Outers, the organisation working to bring about the return of the dragon of destruction. Elegant and utterly ruthless, she moves pieces across kingdoms while Desir is still playing school tournaments. In the future Desir remembers, the Outers' plans helped doom the world, which makes Priscilla one of the enemies he is quietly preparing his young party to face, years before anyone else takes her seriously.
Appearance
Priscilla is a beautiful adult woman with long pale hair and a serene, saintly bearing, usually dressed in the white and gold of her church office. She looks like a painting of mercy, and she knows it, and it is useful. Her voice stays soft in rooms where everyone else is shouting. People lower their guard around her on instinct, which, given what Desir knows about the future she helped build, is the most dangerous thing about her.
Personality
Priscilla is patient, soft-spoken and completely cold beneath the surface. She does not rage or gloat. She arranges. Where other villains want to win a fight, she wants to own the board years before the fight is scheduled, and she treats people, churches and kingdoms as pieces that simply have not been moved yet. Her faith is real in its own twisted way: she serves a vision of the world's end and rebirth, and her calm certainty about it is harder to shake than any fanatic's shouting.
Background & Story
To the public, Priscilla is the Saint of the Artemis Church, a healer whose gift is spoken of with reverence across the empire. Behind that image she leads the Outers, the organisation working in secret to bring back the dragon of destruction. In the future Desir remembers, the Outers' scheming helped push an already desperate world over the edge, and Priscilla was one of the names attached to the ruin. In this timeline she is years ahead of everyone, moving through courts and churches while the academy still thinks in terms of exams. Desir knows exactly what she is. Proving it, and stopping her before her pieces are in place, is a war he has to fight quietly and early.
Powers & Abilities
- Healing Magic: Priscilla is a master healer, famous across the empire for restorative magic good enough to earn her the title of Saint.
- Political Web: Her real weapon is reach: a church's authority, an organisation of hidden followers, and years of favours owed across kingdoms, all pulled by one patient hand.
Key Relationships
- Crow Mask: The masked field leader of her Outers, the hand that strikes in the open while Priscilla herself stays spotless in public.
- Desir Herrman: The one person alive who knows what she really is and what her organisation did in the future. She does not know that yet, which is Desir's only advantage.
