Genau

About Genau

Genau is a first-class mage of the Continental Magic Association who served as an examiner in the first-class mage exam. Polite and soft-spoken, he partners with Methode on the Northern Plateau, where demons still threaten the roads. His gentle manner hides a cold pragmatism: Genau believes a mage's kindness must never slow their hand when a monster needs killing.

Appearance

Genau is a composed man with neatly kept hair and a gentle, unhurried manner, dressed in the formal style of an association mage. He looks more like a diplomat than a front-line fighter, which is misleading, because first-class mages are chosen for exactly the opposite reason. His soft-spoken politeness stays perfectly in place even in a war zone on the Northern Plateau.

Personality

Genau is courteous, pragmatic and quietly ruthless. He speaks softly, treats colleagues with respect and does not enjoy violence, he simply refuses to hesitate at it. Where Methode studies people with delight, Genau studies situations for the fastest safe resolution, and his calm makes him a steady partner in dangerous country.

Background & Story

Genau serves the Continental Magic Association as a first-class mage and worked as an examiner during the first-class mage exam. He later partners with Methode on the demon-threatened roads of the Northern Plateau, where his duties are practical and grim. Genau represents the association's unsentimental side: a mage's job is to kill monsters efficiently, and kindness is only a virtue when it does not slow the hand that does it.

Key Relationships

• Methode: His partner on association duties in the north; her warmth balances his cold pragmatism.
