Gabriel Miller

About Gabriel Miller

Gabriel Miller is the American operative sent to seize Alice from Underworld, a man whose childhood obsession with the human soul twisted into a desire to steal and devour one. In Gun Gale Online he is Subtilizer, the champion who beat Sinon in a Bullet of Bullets final; in Underworld he enters as the dark god Vecta. Cold and patient, he wants exactly what Underworld's heroes are fighting to protect.

Appearance

Gabriel is a tall American man with slicked dark hair, cold eyes and an unnervingly calm expression, usually in the dark tactical gear of a Glowgen contractor. As Subtilizer in Gun Gale Online he is a lean gunman avatar in dark combat clothes. As Vecta in Underworld he appears as a gaunt dark god in black and gold, an emperor of the Dark Territory with an empty, patient stare. In every form the same quality defines him: stillness, and a complete absence of ordinary human warmth.

Personality

Gabriel is cold, patient and quietly monstrous. Where Kayaba built a world, Gabriel wants to consume one: other people exist for him only as vessels for the souls he covets. He speaks softly, plans carefully and treats murder as an experiment. His obsession gives him a strange purity, money, power and victory all bore him; only the soul fascinates him. That single hunger makes him predictable to no one and terrifying to everyone, a man who will cross worlds and start a war for a glimpse of something he lost as a boy.

Background & Story

Gabriel Miller grew up wealthy in America with a childhood fixation that never left him: after the death of a childhood friend, Alicia, he became convinced he had seen her soul, and spent his life trying to see one again. As an adult he became chief technology officer of the defence contractor Glowgen, and a legend in Gun Gale Online as Subtilizer, champion of the Bullet of Bullets tournament. When Glowgen is hired to seize the artificial soul Alice from the Underworld project, Gabriel dives in as the dark god Vecta: for him, the mission is personal: Alice is the soul he has hunted his whole life.

Powers & Abilities

• Subtilizer, GGO Champion: In Gun Gale Online, Gabriel won the first Bullet of Bullets with only a knife and a handgun, and built a legend for defeating armed players with their own weapons.
• Vecta, God of Darkness: In Underworld, Gabriel logs in on the super-account Vecta, the Dark Territory's god-emperor, commanding its armies in the war for Alice.
• Incarnate Manipulation: Gabriel's will in Underworld warps reality through Incarnate, the world's belief-made-real power, bending fear and darkness around him as Vecta.

Key Relationships

• Shino Asada: The sniper who beat his legend's shadow and faced him in the Bullet of Bullets. Sinon is one of the few players to have truly opposed Subtilizer.
• Alice Zuberg: The artificial soul he has been sent to steal, and the prize his lifelong obsession has been pointing at without his knowing it.
• Kirito: The swordsman standing between Vecta's armies and Alice, the final obstacle of Gabriel's hunt.
