Appearance
Yuri is a striking woman with long black hair, red eyes and a confident, almost playful bearing, dressed in fashionable clothes with a princess's polish and a Ranker's ease. She carries herself like someone on holiday in a war zone: amused, curious and completely unafraid. Her weapons, when she bothers to draw them, include the Black March, a needle of the 13 Month Series. The gap between her presentation, a bored royal slumming it on the test floors, and her actual status as one of the Tower's strongest people is the character in a single image.

Yuri is bold, restless and allergic to boredom, a princess who treats the empire's rules as suggestions and its dangers as entertainment. She acts on instinct and backs her instincts with overwhelming power, which makes her both the best friend an Irregular could luck into and a diplomatic incident waiting to happen. Beneath the thrill-seeking she has a sharp eye for significance: she recognised in Bam, within minutes, the thing the whole Tower would spend years reacting to. Her loyalty, once her interest is caught, is as outsized as everything else about her.

Ha Yuri Jahad is a Princess of Jahad and a High Ranker, one of the few hundred strongest people in the entire Tower, who finds royal life stifling and hunts excitement wherever it surfaces. When word spreads that an Irregular has entered the Tower for the first time in centuries, Yuri storms down to the first floor on a whim to see him for herself. What she finds is a boy with no power, no training and no fear of the test that should kill him. On impulse she lends him her own Black March, a legendary weapon, and bets on him, the first of many times. Her interest makes Bam a person of interest to every power watching the Tower.
