Yukiko Kanzaki

About Yukiko Kanzaki

Yukiko Kanzaki is the class's elegant idol, refined, kind and admired by everyone, which is precisely the image her strict parents forced on her. Her secret life as an arcade regular, where she once dominated the local rankings, is her rebellion and her refuge. Koro-sensei helps her see that the girl who loves games and the model student are the same person, and both are allowed to exist.

Appearance

Kanzaki is a graceful girl with long dark hair, gentle features and a refined manner that makes her the class's acknowledged beauty. She carries herself like the perfect model student her parents demanded she be. The contrast is her hidden side: in arcades she is a focused, unbeatable competitor, once dominant on the local rankings, dressed down and completely herself.

Personality

Kanzaki is kind, composed and considerate, but her elegance was forced on her by strict parents, and gaming is where she breathes. She is no rebel for its own sake, she simply wants both halves of her life to be allowed. Koro-sensei helps her see that the arcade girl and the model student are the same person, and she grows easier in her own skin.

Background & Story

Kanzaki was raised under intense pressure to be a flawless young lady, and her escape was the arcade, where she quietly became a top-ranked player. When her falling grades and double life caught up with her, she landed in Class 3-E, where, for the first time, nobody needed her to perform perfection. In 3-E she is valued as herself: a skilled gamer, a capable classmate and a calm presence on class operations.

Key Relationships

• Koro-sensei: Her teacher, who accepts both sides of her and encourages her to stop hiding.
• Tomohito Sugino: A classmate with an obvious crush on her, which she treats kindly.
• Kaede Kayano: A close friend among the girls of Class 3-E.
