About Karma Akabane
Karma Akabane is Class 3-E's brilliant delinquent, suspended for violence and thrilled to find a teacher he is actually allowed to fight. A genius who treats assassination as a game of traps, poisons and psychological warfare, he is the first student to truly wound Koro-sensei. Beneath the sadistic grin sits a boy betrayed by a teacher once before, and terrified of trusting another.
Appearance
Karma is a tall, lean teenager with messy red hair and sharp, pale gold eyes that give him a sly, fox-like look. He usually wears his school uniform loosely, often swapping the blazer for a black cardigan, and carries himself with lazy confidence. His smile is the warning sign: a relaxed, almost sleepy grin that appears right before a prank, a trap or a fight. In combat he moves quickly and precisely, favouring knives, improvised weapons and whatever embarrassing trick will humiliate his opponent most. Even standing still, he gives off the air of someone who has already planned three moves ahead.
Personality
Karma is a genius who is bored by everything except a real challenge. He is playful, sadistic toward enemies and completely fearless, treating assassination as a game of traps, poisons and mind games. He was once protected by a teacher he trusted, then betrayed when that teacher sided against him, so he stopped trusting adults entirely. Koro-sensei is the first teacher to earn his respect, precisely because he cannot be fooled or flattered. Karma is fiercely loyal to Nagisa and, slowly, to the whole class, though he would rather die than say so sweetly. Under the smirk is a boy testing whether anyone can keep up with him.
Background & Story
Karma was a top student at Kunugigaoka whose wealthy parents were rarely home. In his second year he defended a 3-E student from bullies and was suspended for violence, and the teacher he trusted most sided with the school against him. Sent to Class 3-E on his return, Karma arrived late, already knowing about the assassination mission, and greeted Koro-sensei with a handshake hiding a knife trick that made him the first student ever to injure the creature. From then on he became one of the class's sharpest weapons, devising schemes that combine his grades, his combat skill and his love of psychological warfare. His year in 3-E is about learning to work with a team, and to trust a teacher again.
