Suzuha Amane
From Steins;Gate
Suzuha Amane is a main character of Steins;Gate, the cheerful part-time worker at the CRT shop below the lab, who loves cycling and watches the sky too often. She knows more about the future than she first tells the lab. She is voiced by Yukari Tamura in Japanese and Cherami Leigh in English.
About Suzuha Amane
Suzuha Amane works part-time at the CRT shop below the lab, loves cycling, and always seems to be watching the sky. In truth she is a time traveller from a dystopian 2036, sent back to find the IBN 5100 computer and prevent SERN's rule, and Daru's daughter. Cheerful and brave, she knows exactly how little time she has, and her letters from failed timelines haunt both series.
Appearance
Suzuha is an athletic 18-year-old with light brown hair in a side braid, usually in the CRT shop's work clothes or casual sportswear, with a bicycle never far away. She has a soldier's alertness under a bright smile, scanning roofs and skies out of habit.
Personality
Suzuha is bright, energetic and kind, and unusually serious about things like weather, exercise and being prepared. She loves the lab's easy friendship precisely because her own life has little of it. When she speaks about the future she comes from, her cheerfulness turns to urgency: she has a mission, limited time and no room for failure.
Background & Story
Suzuha works part-time for Yugo Tennouji at the Braun Tube Workshop below the Future Gadget Laboratory, and drifts upstairs to visit the lab members. She says she is looking for her father, and that she came to Akihabara from far away, both true, and neither complete. Suzuha is a traveller from a troubled future, sent back with knowledge of what the lab's discovery can lead to and a task she cannot openly explain. Her warnings to Okabe carry the weight of someone who has already seen experiments like his go wrong. (Premise only.)
Powers & Abilities
- Survival and combat training: Suzuha has been trained for hardship and self-defence in her own time, with fitness and alertness far beyond a normal part-timer's.
Key Relationships
- Rintaro Okabe: The lab founder she warns about the future, while enjoying his ridiculous act more than she admits.
- Yugo Tennouji: Her employer at the CRT shop, who gives the stranger in town work and a place to belong.
- Itaru Hashida: A lab member whose kindness and skill matter more to Suzuha's mission than he knows.
