Ruby Hoshino

About Ruby Hoshino

Ruby Hoshino is Ai's daughter and Aqua's twin, secretly the reborn Sarina Tendouji, a terminally ill girl who dreamed of becoming an idol. Bright and determined, she rebuilds her mother's group as the new B-Komachi to stand on the same stage Ai once did. As fame grows, grief and anger begin to change her, and her sunny smile hides a darker drive.

Appearance

Ruby is a bright, pretty teenager with long blonde hair, often worn in a side ponytail like her mother's, and eyes that carry Ai's famous star shine, in her case, in her left eye. She is 158 cm tall and dresses with an idol's instinct even off duty: ribbons, bright colours and a smile that switches on like a light. As B-Komachi's centre of energy she looks every inch Ai Hoshino's daughter, which is both her dream and the comparison she can never escape.

Personality

Ruby is bright, determined and emotionally transparent where her brother is closed, she feels everything loudly, including joy. Idol work is her religion: she believes in her mother's dream with her whole heart and drags everyone around her toward it by sheer enthusiasm. But Ruby is not naive. She grew up in the shadow of a murder the adults around her would not discuss, and as her fame grows, so does her anger: the smile stays perfect while something harder forms underneath it. Her warmth is real, and so is the steel growing inside it.

Background & Story

Ruby is Ai Hoshino's daughter, raised in secret with her twin brother Aqua by the Saito family after their mother's death. Where Aqua grew up chasing the past, Ruby grew up chasing her mother's stage: her whole childhood dream is to become an idol like Ai. As a teenager she talks her way into Strawberry Productions and rebuilds her mother's group as the new B-Komachi, recruiting Kana Arima and MEM-cho to stand beside her. Fame, when it finally comes, is not simple: grief over Ai and anger at the world that took her begin to colour Ruby's ambition, and the sunny idol the fans adore develops a darker drive underneath.
