From Oshi no Ko
MEM-cho is a supporting character in Oshi no Ko, a cheerful streamer with a signature devil-horn look who joins the new B-Komachi, bringing the social media skills the group badly needs. She is voiced by Rumi Okubo in Japanese and Juliet Simmons in English.
About MEM-cho
MEM-cho is a cheerful streamer who built a huge following with her cute devil-horn look and non-stop energy. She joins the new B-Komachi after the reality show Love for Real, bringing social media skills the group badly needs. Older than she pretends to be, she is funny, kind and surprisingly wise about how fame and the internet really work.
Appearance
MEM-cho is a cute, energetic performer with blonde hair worn with her signature look: small devil horns, part of the character she built as a streamer. She is petite, expressive and always performing at least a little, her idol smile and her streaming persona are hard to tell apart. Among the members of the new B-Komachi she looks the youngest, which is her best-kept professional joke: MEM-cho is considerably older than she pretends to be, and guards her real age like state secrets.
Personality
MEM-cho is funny, kind and far shrewder than her cutesy persona suggests. She understands fame as a system, algorithms, audiences, timing, and explains it to her bandmates with a veteran's patience. The gap between her presented age and her real one is played for laughs, but it makes her the group's realist: she knows exactly how the industry prices youth, because she pays the price daily. With friends she drops the act more than anyone expects, and her loyalty to B-Komachi is genuine.
Background & Story
MEM-cho built a huge online following as a streamer before reality television brought her into the Hoshino twins' orbit: she appeared on the dating show Love for Real alongside Aqua, and her social media savvy made her an obvious recruit when Ruby rebuilt B-Komachi. MEM-cho brought what the group badly lacked, an instinct for the internet: what trends, what clips, what fans actually share. Behind the horns and the energy she is a working professional who has survived years of the attention economy, and her advice about fame is consistently the wisest in the room.
