Mountain Tim

About Mountain Tim

Mountain Tim is a famous cowboy, the most celebrated rider of the American West, who joins the Steel Ball Run for the challenge. When racers begin turning up murdered along the route, Tim's sense of justice pulls him into the investigation, and into Johnny and Gyro's orbit. His rope, his skill and his code make him the race's conscience.

Appearance

Tim is a tall, rugged cowboy in full Western dress, wide hat, neckerchief, gloves and a lasso never far from his hand. He looks like a dime-novel hero stepped off the page, and the crowds treat him that way. His Stand lets his own body unravel into rope, which makes his silhouette in a fight one of the strangest in the race.

Personality

Mountain Tim is honourable, direct and quietly romantic, a genuine cowboy in an age already passing him by. He races for the challenge, not the money, and he cannot ride past a corpse or a mystery without stopping. His code is simple: protect the weak, keep your word, and never shoot a man you could arrest.

Background & Story

Mountain Tim built his legend as a cowboy and lawman of the American West, the most celebrated rider of his generation. He entered the Steel Ball Run for sport and glory, and because a man like him could not resist the last great ride of the West. When murdered racers begin appearing along the route, Tim's Ranger instincts take over: he starts investigating, and his path crosses Johnny and Gyro's as the race's hidden war comes into the open.

Powers & Abilities

• Oh! Lonesome Me: Tim's Stand lets his body come apart into rope-like strands that stay under his control, so he can bind, climb, reach and move in ways no whole body could.

Key Relationships

• Johnny Joestar: A fellow racer Tim comes to respect; their paths cross as both are pulled into the murders along the route.
• Gyro Zeppeli: Another of the race's great riders, whose skill Tim acknowledges the way one professional salutes another.
• Lucy Steel: The promoter's wife, whose bravery in the President's shadow earns Tim's protective instincts.
