Isaac Netero

About Isaac Netero

Isaac Netero is the chairman of the Hunter Association and one of the strongest Nen users in the world. Behind his silly grin and endless teasing sits a martial artist who trained beyond human limits and still loves a real challenge. He leads the mission against the Chimera Ants knowing its true cost, and faces the Ant king himself with gratitude, joy and terrifying resolve to win.

Appearance

Netero is an elderly man of short, wiry build at first glance, with white hair tied in a topknot ponytail, a long white beard, stretched earlobes with heavy ornaments and a mischievous, grinning face full of deep lines. He dresses casually, simple kimono-style tops and shorts, even as chairman, and moves with a springiness that mocks his age. In battle his posture changes entirely: the playful old man becomes a still, centred martial artist whose prayer-like hand movements precede attacks faster than eyes can follow.

Personality

Netero is playful, teasing and seemingly irresponsible, he treats the Hunter Exam as entertainment and goads young candidates for fun. It is half genuine and half camouflage for a man who has governed the Hunter world for decades with ruthless pragmatism, making morally grey decisions no one else will carry. At his core he is a martial artist who spent years praying and punching in the mountains until his body broke human limits, and he remains hungry, with real gratitude, for an opponent who can make him fight seriously. He faces death the way he faces everything: smiling.

Background & Story

Netero's legend begins in his forties, when, frustrated by his limits, he retreated to the mountains and performed ten thousand punches and prayers of gratitude every day for years, until he could complete them before breakfast and his fists moved faster than sound. He rose to lead the Hunter Association, holding the chairmanship for decades and shaping the Exam and the Association's power. When the Chimera Ants emerge as a threat to humanity itself, the old chairman takes the field personally at the head of the extermination team, knowing the mission's true shape: he is the weapon of last resort, sent to kill a King stronger than any human, and quietly glad of it.

Powers & Abilities

• 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva: Netero's Nen conjures a colossal multi-armed statue that strikes with his prayer motions, delivering attacks of enormous power at speeds beyond human perception.
• Prayer Strikes: Netero's attacks begin with a prayer gesture completed faster than the eye can see, the only movement he makes, and one no opponent can interrupt.
• Zero Hand: Netero's ultimate technique gathers all of his aura into a single devastating beam from behind the target, leaving him completely drained.
• Superhuman Martial Arts: Decades of training give Netero strength, speed and senses at the peak of humanity even without his statue, including reading opponents from the faintest aura flow.

Key Relationships

• Meruem: The Chimera Ant King Netero is sent to destroy, the opponent he has waited a lifetime for, whom he thanks sincerely for the fight.
• Ging Freecss: One of the elite Hunters Netero rates among the world's best Nen users, and a man whose unruliness the chairman openly enjoys.
• Kite: A Hunter Netero assigns to the Chimera Ant investigation, part of the mission Netero oversees from the top.
