Jessie

About Jessie

Jessie is a braindance engineer at Sal Bigelow's Braindance Paradise, one of the technicians who tune and edit recorded experiences for Night City's customers. Working where Roman Carax comes looking for real stories in a city of manufactured ones, Jessie represents the craft behind the fantasy, the people who build the dreams everyone else rents.

Appearance

Jessie has the working look of the people who build Night City's dreams: practical clothes, tech always within reach, and the focused air of a technician who spends her days inside other people's memories. She belongs to the workshop side of the parlour, not the showroom.

Personality

Jessie represents the craft behind the fantasy, skilled, matter-of-fact, and clear-eyed about what her work is. Braindance feels magical to the customers who rent it; to Jessie it is footage, tuning and editing decisions. Working where Roman Carax comes looking for real stories, she is one of the people who can explain how the manufactured ones are made.

Background & Story

Jessie works as a braindance engineer at Sal Bigelow's Braindance Paradise in Night City, one of the technicians who tune raw recordings into the polished experiences customers pay to live. Her bench sits at the junction of the season's stories: the parlour draws filmmaker Roman Carax, whose hunt for real stories keeps bringing him back to the people who fabricate everyone else's.

Key Relationships

• Sal Bigelow: Her employer, the parlour's owner, who sells the experiences Jessie engineers.
• Roman Carax: The filmmaker whose questions about real and manufactured stories keep leading him to Jessie's side of the parlour.
