Solo Leveling: Beyond the System Movie Announced: Plus the Season 3 Question, Answered
Sung Jinwoo's story is heading to the big screen. At the Crunchyroll Showcase during Anime Expo 2026, on 3 July, Crunchyroll and Aniplex announced Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, an all-new theatrical anime movie that continues the story directly after the events of Season 2. The reveal came with a teaser key visual and a concept video, with Jinwoo's English voice actor Aleks Le appearing on stage for the announcement.
The movie is animated by A-1 Pictures, the studio behind both TV seasons, and directed by Tao Tajima. It is co-produced by Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media, Kakao Piccoma and Crunchyroll. Plot details beyond "the next phase of Jinwoo's journey" are still secret, and this part matters: no release date has been announced. Any exact date you see online at the moment is speculation, not an official announcement.
So, what about Solo Leveling Season 3?
It is one of the most-searched questions in anime right now, so here is the honest answer: Season 3 has not been announced. Aniplex, Crunchyroll and the official anime website have made no Season 3 announcement, and there is no date, trailer or episode count for it. The only place a third season has been mentioned is in investor materials from D&C Media, the original Korean publisher, which listed a Season 3 as expected somewhere in a 2027–2028 window. That is a business document, not a green light. The next confirmed chapter of the anime is the Beyond the System movie.
The demand is easy to understand. Solo Leveling won Anime of the Year at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, and according to Crunchyroll's own 2026 engagement figures it has held a place in the platform's Top 10 for more than 330 consecutive days. Whenever the movie's release date, or real Season 3 news, is officially confirmed, we will update this story and our Solo Leveling page.
